Encoders
Encoders are sensing devices producing feedback. Encoders convert movement to an electric signal that is deciphered by a control device in motion control systems.
Motion control systems include counters, timers and programmable logic. Encoders send feedback as a signal that determines speed, position, count or direction. Control devices take this information and send commands for a particular application.
